ABMP Members Receive $100 Toward CETMB Application Fee
Alliance for Massage Therapy Education (AFMTE) is excited to announce that Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) will sponsor $100 of the CETMB application fee for any educator who is an ABMP member. This offer demonstrates the commitment to excellence in massage education shared by ABMP and AFMTE. It will be available to the first 50 ABMP members who apply for the Certified Educator of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (CETMB) credential. The CETMB credential is unlike any other certification in our field.
“It’s not a certification of your content knowledge and practitioner skills; it’s a certification of your ability to teach your content knowledge and practitioner skills to others. It’s a way to show you exemplify the highest excellence as an educator of massage and bodywork. It’s a way to say you strongly believe credentialing instructors in both entry-level training programs and post-graduate studies will strengthen and improve the overall quality of therapeutic massage and bodywork practitioners,” says Deanna Sylvester, Educator Certification Project Manager.
The CETMB credential is currently awarded through a voluntary portfolio review process. The AFMTE Educator Certification Program’s portfolio review process allows experienced educators to demonstrate they have achieved proficiency in the Core Competencies for Massage Therapy Teachers without having to complete a formal teacher training program.
AFMTE thanks ABMP for the generous support of the AFMTE Educator Certification Program. Visit the AFMTE website to take advantage of this sponsorship and for details on the required portfolio items. Contact Deanna Sylvester at deanna@afmte.org to learn more.
If you are a massage and bodywork instructor who would like to join ABMP, you can save $24 on ABMP membership when you join by calling (800) 458-2267. More information is available here.
